Salman Khan’s ₹1.5 Lakh Designer Boots Trolled as ‘Worn-Out’ Fans Hit Back at Critics
Luxury distressed footwear triggers debate as netizens mistake high end fashion for worn-out shoes
Mumbai, Apr 06 ; Bollywood star Salman Khan recently became the talk of social media after his choice of footwear during a public appearance stirred an unexpected online debate.
The actor, who has been actively attending events during his break from film shoots, was spotted at the airport dressed in a checked shirt paired with bold denim and rugged looking boots. A viral video capturing his arrival quickly drew attention, particularly as cameras zoomed in on his footwear, which appeared heavily worn. This led several users online to label them as “torn shoes,” sparking confusion and criticism.
However, fans soon stepped in to clarify the situation, revealing that the actor was actually wearing premium designer footwear. The boots were identified as distressed leather cowboy boots from Balenciaga, a label known for its unconventional and rugged aesthetics. Priced between ₹1.2 lakh and ₹1.5 lakh, the boots are intentionally designed to look aged and worn, turning what seemed like a fashion mishap into a statement of luxury style.
Supporters of the actor highlighted that such distressed designs are a growing trend in global fashion, defending his choice and calling out the trolling as misplaced. Notably, Khan had previously worn the same boots during promotions for his film Tiger 3.
On the professional front, the actor is preparing to begin work on a new action drama backed by Dil Raju and directed by Vamshi Paidipally. The yet to be-titled project will feature Nayanthara, Anil Kapoor, and Arvind Swamy in key roles, with filming expected to begin in Mumbai later this month.
In addition, Khan is awaiting the release of his upcoming war drama Maatrubhumi, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, which has generated considerable anticipation among fans.
