Mega petrochemical project at Pachpadra set to transform Marwar region with jobs and industrial growth

Jaipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Rajasthan on April 21 to inaugurate the Greenfield refinery cum petrochemical complex at Pachpadra in Barmer district, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced.

Calling it a proud moment for the state, Sharma said the high-profile visit marks a significant milestone for one of Rajasthan’s largest industrial projects. The refinery has been developed by HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited, a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and the Government of Rajasthan, with equity stakes of 74 per cent and 26 per cent respectively.

With a refining capacity of 9 million metric tonnes per annum, including 2.4 MMTPA of petrochemical output, the facility is expected to strengthen India’s energy infrastructure while supporting downstream industries.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the project will act as a catalyst for economic development in the Marwar region, generating employment opportunities and attracting further investments. He described the refinery as a major step toward accelerating Rajasthan’s industrial growth and improving livelihoods.

The project was originally launched on January 16, 2018, in the presence of the Prime Minister, marking the beginning of construction for this ambitious venture.
