Digital Classrooms Expand Across India with AI Integration

Government backed reforms push smart learning tools into rural and urban schools

India, Apr 13 : India’s education sector is undergoing a rapid transformation as artificial intelligence tools are increasingly introduced into classrooms nationwide. The Ministry of Education has accelerated initiatives aimed at bridging the digital divide, ensuring both rural and urban institutions benefit from modern learning systems.

AI-powered platforms are now being used to personalise lessons, track student performance, and assist teachers with automated assessments. States like Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Delhi have reported improved engagement levels among students using these tools.

Experts believe AI adoption will reshape how knowledge is delivered, shifting focus from rote memorisation to conceptual understanding. However, concerns remain regarding infrastructure gaps in remote areas and the need for teacher training.

The initiative aligns with India’s broader digital push, with policymakers emphasising inclusivity and skill development. As the rollout continues, educationists say the success of AI integration will depend on balancing technology with human interaction in classrooms.
