High Court employees shifting under Darbar Move to get Rs 25,000 allowance
- Main wing of High Court to shift from Jammu to Srinagar from May 4
Jammu, 18-04-2026: The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has ordered the annual Darbar Move of its main wing from Jammu to Srinagar for the summer season of 2026.
According to the official order, a number of key offices functioning in Jammu will close on April 30 after office hours and resume work in Srinagar on May 4 in the forenoon. These include the main wing of the High Court, the office of the Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice, Registrar Vigilance, Director of the Jammu and Kashmir Judicial Academy, Registrar Rules, Registrar Information Technology and the office of the Central Project Coordinator for e-Courts.
The order marks the seasonal shift of the High Court’s principal offices to Srinagar in keeping with the established Darbar Move arrangement for the summer months.
It has also been specified that employees shifting to Srinagar as part of the move will be entitled to a special move allowance of Rs 25,000 each. However, the benefit will be available only to those employees who relocate within the prescribed timeline. Those failing to do so will not be eligible for the allowance, the order said.
