PM Modi Says Operation Sindoor Demonstrated India’s Strong Stand Against Terror

Operation Sindoor Marked India’s Strong Military Response

NEW DELHI, May 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that Operation Sindoor demonstrated India’s uncompromising stand against terrorism and reaffirmed the country’s determination to protect national security at all costs.
Marking the first anniversary of the large scale military operation conducted against terror camps and military infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, the Prime Minister stated that India continues to remain firm in its mission to eliminate terrorism and dismantle the network supporting it.
Recalling the events of last year, Modi praised the courage and professionalism displayed by the Indian armed forces during Operation Sindoor. He said the operation sent a strong message to those responsible for attacking innocent civilians in Pahalgam and added that the entire nation salutes the bravery and sacrifice of the security forces.
In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister said Operation Sindoor reflected India’s decisive response to terrorism while highlighting the preparedness, coordination and operational strength of the armed forces.
He further noted that the operation showcased increasing synergy among India’s defence and security agencies. According to Modi, the success of the mission also highlighted the growing impact of India’s push towards self-reliance in the defence sector, which has significantly strengthened the country’s security capabilities.
Operation Sindoor was jointly carried out by the Indian Army, Air Force, Navy and the Border Security Force along the western frontier between May 7 and May 10, 2025. The operation targeted terrorist hideouts and military facilities located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The military action was launched in response to the April 22, 2025 terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 people, mostly tourists, lost their lives in one of the deadliest attacks in the region in recent years.
