NCB’s ‘Operation RAGEPILL’ intercepts massive drug shipment bound for the Middle East; foreign national arrested

NEW DELHI, May 16: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has seized the first-ever consignment of Captagon, commonly referred to as the “Jihadi Drug”, valued at around Rs 182 crore.

Sharing the details on X, Shah said the breakthrough was achieved under “Operation RAGEPILL”, describing it as a major success in India’s fight against narcotics trafficking.

He said the intercepted consignment was meant to be smuggled to the Middle East and confirmed that a foreign national had been arrested in connection with the case.

The Home Minister reiterated the Centre’s commitment to building a “Drug-Free India” under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and stressed that authorities would act firmly against drug networks using Indian territory for transit or distribution.

Praising the efforts of the NCB officials, Shah said security agencies remain committed to a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics and cross-border drug trafficking.
