US, May 24 : Negotiations between the United States and Iran gathered momentum over the weekend as diplomatic efforts expanded across the Middle East. US President Donald Trump claimed a broader peace framework had been “largely negotiated”, although several issues remain unresolved.
Iran signalled cautious optimism while rejecting claims regarding surrender of strategic control over the Strait of Hormuz. Pakistan continued to play an active mediation role, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressing hope for another round of talks soon.
Major sticking points include sanctions, nuclear commitments and long-term security arrangements in the region.
