Envoy Vinay Kwatra engages Walmart, SCSP, and US security officials to advance AI innovation, resilient supply chains, and counter-terrorism collaboration
Washington DC, June 09 : India’s Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, held a series of strategic meetings with leading American corporate executives, technology policy experts, and security officials, underscoring New Delhi’s expanding engagement with Washington across innovation, trade, and defence domains.
In discussions with senior leadership of Walmart, Ambassador Kwatra explored opportunities to strengthen the company’s long-term investments in India, while also emphasizing the importance of robust and diversified global supply networks. The talks reflected growing alignment between both countries on building stable and resilient supply chains amid global economic uncertainties.
The envoy described his interaction with Walmart leadership as a productive exchange focused on India’s evolving market potential, investment climate, and shared priorities in enhancing supply chain reliability.
In a separate engagement, Kwatra met Ylli Bajraktari, President and CEO of the Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP), to discuss next-generation technologies shaping global competition. The dialogue centered on advancements in artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and emerging concepts such as physical AI, highlighting expanding avenues for deeper India-US technological collaboration.
The meeting also comes ahead of Bajraktari’s upcoming visit to New Delhi for the India-US Forum, where technology cooperation is expected to be a central agenda item.
Reinforcing the strategic dimension of bilateral ties, Ambassador Kwatra also held talks with senior US counter-terrorism official Sebastian Gorka. The discussions focused on evolving global security threats and ongoing cooperation mechanisms between the two countries in combating terrorism.
Both sides reviewed existing counter-terrorism frameworks and exchanged views on strengthening joint efforts to address extremist networks and prevent the misuse of technology by non-state actors. The engagement reflects continued alignment in defence and security priorities between New Delhi and Washington.
These diplomatic interactions collectively underline the growing convergence between India and the United States across critical sectors, including advanced technology, economic security, and counter-terrorism cooperation, further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations.
