J&K Govt Approves Regularization of Promotions for Six Retired Chief Mechanical Engineers
Public Works Department grants substantive status to former in-charge officials through formal government order
Jammu, June 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the promotion and regularization of six retired In-charge Chief Engineers (Mechanical), granting them substantive status as Chief Engineers in the Public Works (R&B) Department.
The decision was formalized through a government order issued by the department, recognizing the officials’ elevation to the senior engineering post on a regular basis.
The officers whose promotions have been regularized are Vinod Kumar Luthra, Sunil Gupta-II, Maninder Pal Singh, Afaq Showkat, Manga Ram and Bodh Raj.
According to the order, the move regularizes their service position against the post of Chief Engineer (Mechanical), a step that is expected to have implications for service records and retirement related benefits admissible under applicable rules.
The Public Works Department stated that the regularization has been accorded after completion of the requisite administrative process and consideration by the competent authority.
The decision is being viewed as a significant administrative measure aimed at addressing long-pending service matters concerning senior engineering officers who had served in the department in an in charge capacity before their retirement.
With the issuance of the order, the six former officials now stand formally recognized as having held the post of Chief Engineer (Mechanical) on a substantive basis during their service tenure.
