Operation Sheruwali Enters Day 35 as Search Operations Continue in Rajouri’s Dorimal Forests
Multi agency counter-insurgency drive continues in dense forest terrain with sustained surveillance and area domination measures.
J&K, June 26 : The ongoing counter terrorism operation “Sheruwali” in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district has entered its 35th day, with security forces maintaining an extensive search presence in the forested belt of Dorimal in the Gambir Mughlan sector.
Launched in late May, the large scale combing operation is being carried out jointly by the Jammu and Kashmir Police along with other security and central agencies. The mission is aimed at tracking down and neutralising suspected armed infiltrators believed to be hiding in the difficult and densely forested mountainous terrain of the region.
Officials said that despite challenging geography and thick vegetation, security personnel have continued systematic search and surveillance activities across multiple zones. Teams are conducting coordinated movements to ensure no section of the forested area remains unchecked.
The operation involves round the clock monitoring, with forces maintaining heightened alertness due to the possibility of hidden threats in the rugged landscape. Advanced surveillance inputs and ground level search parties are being used in tandem to strengthen operational effectiveness.
Authorities confirmed that the area remains under strict security grid, with additional deployment in sensitive pockets to prevent any possible infiltration or untoward activity. Movement within the zone is closely regulated as part of broader containment measures.
Officials further stated that the objective of the operation is complete sanitisation of the region. The forces are continuing their efforts until all suspected hideouts are cleared and operational goals are fully achieved.
Security agencies have emphasised that the prolonged duration of the operation reflects both the complexity of the terrain and the cautious, intelligence driven approach adopted to avoid collateral risks.
As Operation Sheruwali continues, the focus remains on maintaining dominance over the forested belt while ensuring stability and security in the wider Rajouri region.
