Sunny Deol to Return as Ghatak in Rajkumar Santoshi’s New Action Drama
The filmmaker confirms that Sunny Deol will reprise his iconic character, while clarifying that the upcoming film is not a sequel to the 1996 classic.
MUMBAI, Aug. 31: Actor Sunny Deol is set to reunite with filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi for a new action drama that will see him return to his iconic Ghatak character, Santoshi has confirmed.
The upcoming film, titled Ghatak Ghus Ke Maarega, has generated considerable interest among fans because of Deol’s association with the memorable character from the 1996 film Ghatak: Lethal.
Santoshi, however, has clarified that the new project should not be considered a direct sequel to the earlier film. The filmmaker also dismissed speculation surrounding a possible Jaat 2 project.
The reunion marks another collaboration between Santoshi and Deol, whose earlier work together produced some of the actor’s most recognisable action roles.
Details about the storyline and the rest of the cast are yet to be announced. Santoshi has indicated that additional casting information will be revealed later.
The project comes as Deol continues to explore action oriented roles, while Santoshi prepares to return with another film aimed at audiences familiar with his earlier work.
