September OTT Line-Up Brings ‘Dhamaal 4’, ‘Mayday’ and New Regional Titles
Major streaming platforms have rolled out a diverse selection of comedy, action, courtroom drama and psychological thrillers for viewers during the first weekend of September.
Mumbai, Sep 05 : Streaming audiences have a packed weekend ahead, with several new films and series arriving across major OTT platforms from September 4.
Among the most prominent releases is ‘Dhamaal 4’, which brings Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi back for another comedy adventure. The film is now available on Netflix and continues the popular franchise’s chaotic treasure-hunt formula.
Apple TV has released ‘Mayday’, an action comedy starring Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh. Set during the Cold War, the film follows an American pilot who finds himself behind enemy lines after a surveillance mission goes wrong.
Amazon Prime Video has also added ‘Jagamae Sangeetham’, a musical romance centred on a young man from a traditional Carnatic music family who falls in love with a pop singer. Their relationship brings long-hidden family conflicts and artistic differences to the surface.
Regional content also features prominently in the latest streaming line-up. JioHotstar has introduced the Tamil courtroom drama ‘The Court’, while SonyLIV is streaming the Malayalam psychological thriller ‘Unmadham’.
‘The Court’ follows a young lawyer with a speech impairment who finds herself facing her experienced lawyer father in a major legal dispute. ‘Unmadham’, meanwhile, centres on a police officer and aspiring screenwriter who revisits an unsolved case, leading him into increasingly disturbing territory.
The latest releases underline the increasingly broad range of content available to Indian streaming audiences, with mainstream Hindi entertainment appearing alongside regional language productions and international titles.
