‘Hanuman Ansh’ Surpasses Rs 80 Crore as Director Reveals OTT Rejection

Vishal Chaturvedi's spiritual drama continues its theatrical run while the filmmaker opens up about an earlier setback involving a major streaming platform.

Mumbai, Sep 05 : ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has continued its successful theatrical run, crossing the Rs 80 crore mark as the film gains attention for its portrayal of Neem Karoli Baba.

Director Vishal Chaturvedi recently revealed that the film had previously been rejected by a major OTT platform. He described the response as disappointing and said he found aspects of the rejection particularly discouraging.

Despite the initial setback in the streaming space, the movie has found a strong audience in cinemas. Its box-office performance has helped establish the project as one of the notable success stories of the current theatrical season.

The film focuses on the spiritual journey associated with Neem Karoli Baba and features Shobhinaw Satyaa and Purnima Tiwari in key roles. The subject has attracted viewers interested in spiritual and biographical cinema.

The director has also spoken about the challenges involved in bringing the project to audiences and the lack of support he received from parts of the film industry during its development.

Its theatrical performance has subsequently opened opportunities for the film in international markets, with overseas distribution also being reported.

The success of ‘Hanuman Ansh’ highlights the growing audience for films built around real life spiritual figures and culturally rooted stories, particularly when they manage to connect with viewers beyond conventional Bollywood formulas.

With its earnings continuing to attract attention, the film’s performance is now being closely followed as it moves further into its theatrical run.
