Mumbai, Sep 19 : A high powered committee headed by Nandan Nilekani is expected to submit its first interim report by the end of September on proposed reforms to India’s public examination system and the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The development was highlighted in updates for September 19, 2026, after the Centre informed the Supreme Court that the panel has conducted extensive consultations as part of its review.
The committee was established to examine the existing examination framework and identify measures that could strengthen the organisation and conduct of major public examinations. Its work comes amid continuing efforts to improve examination processes, technology, security and administrative systems.
