JCCI Welcomes Assembly Bill on Gair Mumkin Khads, Urges Protection of Genuine Landowners
Jammu,23-09-2026: Anil Gupta, Senior Vice President of the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has welcomed the passage of the bill in the Assembly concerning Gair Mumkin Khads, describing it as a positive and much-awaited step for the people of the Jammu region.
Gupta expressed happiness over the development and thanked the Chief Minister and his Cabinet for bringing and passing the bill. He also appreciated the efforts of BJP MLAs, saying they strongly raised and supported the issue in favour of the affected people.
He said the passage of the bill would bring relief and happiness to many residents of Jammu region who had been facing difficulties related to land falling under the Gair Mumkin Khad category. According to him, several genuine landowners had been waiting for a fair and practical solution to the issue.
Gupta requested the Chief Minister to ensure that genuine cases are not subjected to unnecessary harassment during the implementation process. He said innocent owners of Gair Mumkin Khad land should get proper relief and their land-related matters should be cleared in a transparent and time-bound manner.
He further urged the Chief Minister to personally monitor the implementation of the bill so that the benefit reaches deserving landowners without delay, confusion or misuse. Gupta said the decision should be carried forward with fairness, sensitivity and proper administrative supervision in the larger interest of the people.
