Nine Killed, 20 Rescued After Bus Catches Fire on Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida

NOIDA, Sept 24: Nine passengers were killed after a bus caught fire on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, officials said.
The bus, registered as BR32PA8647, was travelling from Kashmere Gate in New Delhi towards Mahoba when the fire broke out near the 33-km milestone in the area under Jewar police station, Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar said.
Twenty passengers were rescued safely following the incident, officials said. Emergency teams responded to the blaze after receiving information about the burning vehicle.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established. Authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and gathering details about the passengers and the sequence of events.
The incident led to an emergency response on the expressway, with fire and police personnel reaching the location to carry out rescue and safety operations.
