Drishyam 3 Crosses Rs 300 Crore Worldwide, Nears Rs 200 Crore Mark in India

Ajay Devgn led crime thriller records Rs 21 crore on its first Monday despite a significant drop after its opening weekend.

New Delhi, October 6: Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam 3: The Conclusion has crossed the Rs 300 crore mark globally within four days of its theatrical release, maintaining a strong commercial run despite experiencing a noticeable slowdown on its first Monday.

The Abhishek Pathak-directed crime thriller, which arrived in cinemas on October 2, earned around Rs 21 crore net in India on Monday, October 5, according to trade estimates cited by entertainment publications. The figure represented a substantial decline from its Sunday collection of Rs 61 crore, but the film still remained on course to reach another major domestic milestone.

With Monday’s earnings added to its tally, the movie’s India net collection moved close to Rs 200 crore. The Indian Express reported that the film’s domestic net stood at around Rs 197 crore after Day 4, while its worldwide gross had reached approximately Rs 303 crore.

The Monday performance came after a particularly strong opening weekend. The film had recorded its biggest opening day and opening weekend among Ajay Devgn’s releases, giving the latest instalment a strong foundation before the first weekday test.

Despite the decline in daily business, the Monday figure remains significant because the first weekday is generally seen as an important indicator of whether a movie can maintain momentum after the initial weekend rush. Drishyam 3 managed to remain well above the Rs 20 crore mark on its first Monday.

The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 24.71 per cent on October 5, with audience turnout increasing during the later screenings. Night shows registered the strongest occupancy at 38.38 per cent, followed by evening shows at 26.85 per cent. Afternoon screenings recorded 20.69 per cent, while morning shows stood at 12.92 per cent.

The numbers have placed the movie among the major Hindi releases of the year. The Indian Express reported that its worldwide earnings had already crossed Rs 300 crore, making it one of the highest-grossing Hindi films released in 2026.

The latest chapter brings back Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar, the central character whose ability to protect his family through carefully constructed plans has driven the franchise. Tabu returns as Meera Deshmukh, while Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta reprise their respective roles.

The cast has also been expanded with Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj joining the franchise. Their presence adds new dimensions to the latest chapter as the story moves toward its concluding phase.

The Drishyam series has built its appeal around suspense, family loyalty and the consequences of a crime that continues to affect the characters. The Hindi adaptations have developed a sizeable audience, with the previous two films establishing Vijay Salgaonkar as one of the better-known characters in contemporary Hindi crime dramas.

The latest film is officially titled Drishyam: The Conclusion and is directed by Abhishek Pathak. The makers have positioned it as the final chapter of the Hindi franchise, increasing interest among viewers who have followed Vijay’s story since the first film.

The screenplay also became a major talking point before release. Writer Aamil Keeyan Khan revealed that the ending went through a very large number of drafts during the development process. Reports from the film’s publicity campaign indicated that the team worked extensively to keep the conclusion protected from leaks.

The film’s performance has also drawn comparisons with the Malayalam original directed by Jeethu Joseph. The Malayalam Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal, had a full theatrical run that reportedly ended with a worldwide gross of about Rs 237.70 crore. The Hindi film crossed that figure in a much shorter period, according to reported trade figures.

The strong opening has given the movie an advantage as it enters its first full weekday stretch. However, sustaining collections beyond the opening period will depend on audience response, competition from other releases and the film’s ability to maintain occupancy during regular working days.

Early Tuesday figures indicated that the film continued to attract audiences. The Indian Express reported that Drishyam 3 had already crossed the Rs 50 lakh mark in India during the morning of October 6, with the day’s collection still developing at the time of the report.

For Ajay Devgn, the film’s early performance represents another strong theatrical showing for a franchise that has retained its audience over multiple instalments. The actor’s portrayal of Vijay Salgaonkar has remained central to the series, with the character’s calm demeanour and elaborate planning forming much of the narrative identity.

The latest numbers also highlight the continued appetite for established film franchises in the Hindi market. While new productions continue to compete for theatrical attention, recognisable characters and continuing stories remain capable of generating substantial opening-weekend interest.

As Drishyam 3 moves further into its theatrical run, the immediate focus will be on whether the movie can maintain its pace after the first Monday and cross the Rs 200 crore domestic net milestone. Its worldwide total has already passed Rs 300 crore, giving the film a strong position just days after release.
