KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 18: After the successful completion of the Inter-school Zonal level competition, the Inter-Zonal District level competition was today declared open here at a function held in Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kishtwar.
Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Sham Lal was the chief guest, while the Principal of the host school, Sunita Sharma was the guest of honour. Mushtaq Ahmed Dev, press correspondent, Incharge ZPEOs, and sports persons attended the inaugural function which began with a welcome address by District Youth Services and Sports Officer, K. L. Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest stressed upon the participants to follow the Covid SOPs while taking part in sports and games. He asked them to imbibe the fighting spirit and hone their sports skills to achieve excellence.
The DYSSO informed that the winning teams of Zone Drabshalla, Inderwal, Kishtwar, Nagseni & Padder are going to participate in the tournament.
Meanwhile, ADDC gave away certificates to the girl students who participated in the snow Skiing competition and among the U/14 Boys who had taken part in the inter-District UT level tournament.
Before the inaugural match, a pledge ceremony was held for the players. The inaugural kho-kho match for under 17 girls was won by the team of Zone Inderwal by defeating the Zone Padder team.
As per the fixture circulated by the in-charge activity Javed Iqbal Sheikh, more matches will be played under the supervision of convenors, officials, and the organizing committee among the zones on scheduled dates.
