JAMMU, OCTOBER 04: In compliance with the order of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh regarding holding of co-ordination meetings at the District level, a coordination meeting was held today in the office chamber of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Jammu which was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, Superintendent Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu, Superintendent District Jail Amphalla, Jammu, Deputy Director Prosecution, Public Prosecutor, Additional Public Prosecutor, and other stakeholders.
The meeting was convened by Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu who is also the Secretary of the Co-ordination Committee following directions of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Jammu.
Various issues having bearing on the administration of justice were discussed in the meeting.
Apart from security issues in District Court Complex, Jammu and peripheral courts of the District viz. Munsiff Court, Akhnoor, Courts at R.S Pura and Munsiff court, Bishnah – the issue relating to the acquisition of land for the new court complex at Bishnah was also discussed, and concerned authorities were impressed upon to expedite the process.
Emphasis on foolproof security in all courts including in judicial quarters at Amphalla was laid in the meeting.
Other issues pertaining to the accommodation of witnesses, E-prosecution, and issues pertaining to video conferencing with under-trials detained in jails and implementation of witness protection schemes were also discussed.
Meeting ended with a note that concerns raised be assuaged by the full and complete implementation of decisions taken. The next meeting would be held at the end of the year.
