JAMMU, NOV 27: Nimrandeep Singh Bhullar, Youth activist & General Secretary, JKPYC along with many SI aspirants has expressed serious concern over the rising unemployment in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Hundreds of youth from various part of j&k has joined Singh to hold the protest against the rising unemployment rate of 22.2% in JKUT.
Talking to reporters here today, Singh said that unemployment has reached 22.2 per cent in Jammu and Kashmir which figures among top states across the nation in terms of unemployment. He castigated the present regime at the Centre as well as the Union Territory Administration for alleged failure to formulate a result-oriented employment policy for the youth of J&K.
Bhullar said that as Mahatma Gandhi has said the true source of rights is the duty and if all these departmental heads have discharged their duties well on time (means referred the posts to various departments well in time), then I don’t think that these unemployed youth got over-aged.
Youth activist Bhullar lamented that government seems to be unmoved on this very significant issue with the youth in large numbers getting over-aged with each passing day and expressed his serious concerns for SI aspirants who were on roads for the last 7 months for their rights.
Citing examples of Class IV jobs, Brinder Pratap Singh Bhatyal & Ranjit Chopra Gen. Secty (JKPYC) pointed out that Govt has announced 8000 posts in J&K but due to hollow policies youth still continue to suffer a lot. He said that first, the Govt published advertisements for 8000 Class IV posts and then announced that no Graduate aspirant will be eligible for these jobs that too after conducting the exams and also collected crores of rupees from these unemployed youths through forms for these jobs.
While speaking to SI aspirant Gourav Sharma who is very much concerned about his career has once again appealed to LG Manoj Sinha Ji to look into this matter on a fast track basis, as he said that with every passing day frustration level in youth is increasing.
In the last, Bhullar said that the majority of youth who has crossed their age bar because of administrative flaws, poor policies, COVID-19, and various other reasons direly need one time age relaxation on compassionate grounds i.e. of at least 5 years, and requested the LG to look into the matter to reconsider this issue related to the career and future of J&K Youth.
