Advisor Farooq Khan congratulates Chandeep Singh for claiming silver at 9th Para World Taekwondo Championships

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 12: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan has congratulated the International Para-Taekwondo Athlete, Chandeep Singh who created history by claiming the silver medal in the 9th Para World Taekwondo Championships held at Istanbul, Turkey from 9th to 12th December 2021.

In his congratulatory message, Advisor Farooq Khan has said that we are very sure that Chandeep can secure his place in the upcoming International Taekwondo Events. He added that the athlete has proven his mettle and in the coming days he will bring more fame for J&K and the country as well.

Pertinently, Chandeep is first Para Athlete from J&K who achieved such a great place in this Olympic sport at the World level and it was only possible because of training, coaching, and financial support of the J&K Sports Council.

During the championship, Chandeep Singh played extremely well and reached the finals which he lost in a close contest with the opponent of Russia.

Secretary Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul has also congratulated Sandeep Singh and has assured all logistic and possible support will be provided to him in his future endeavours.
