Science Festival-2022 commences at Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt P.G College for Women

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 27: Department of Botany, Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt. P.G. College for Women Gandhi Nagar Jammu is hosting  ‘Science Festival-2022 here on the college campus.

 The festival started on 26th Feb and would continue till 28th  February,  2022 with the theme- ‘Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future.

The three day Science Festival was inaugurated by  the College  Principal Dr. Sangita Nagari.

 Prof. Mala Bhasin, Convenor and Head of Department of Botany   welcomed the esteemed dignitaries and threw light on the events to be held during the celebration of Science Festival-2022

Interacting with students, Dr. Sangita Nagari, appreciated their participation in different activities and motivated them to be the part of various research based science programs launched by Govt. of India for  Sustainable development.

On day-1, a Model Making Competition was organised wherein 98 students participated and displayed beautiful working as well as still  science models related to their  Syllabi.

 The event was judged by Dr. Indu Khajuria; Prof. Vasudha Choudhary and Dr. Rahul Sharma.

The day two started with a Guest lecture by Dr.Ashaq Malik, Assistant Professor, Govt. PG College, Rajouri ,on the theme-  Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for Sustainable Future’.

Dr. Malik spoke on the contribution of top Indian Scientists/ Nobel Prize laureates in the field of Science and Technology.

He also suggested ways to promote Science advancement in India by developing and teaching Sustainable Agriculture and by improving STEM education at College and School level. The event was well coordinated by Prof. Sania Hamid, followed by vote of thanks by   Organizing Secretary Dr. Harjeet Kour Sodhi.

The three days Science Festival -2022 will culminate on 28th February 2022.
