State President All India Confederation for SC/ST/OBC Organisations meet VC SKUAST, Jammu
R.K. Kalsotra demanded implementation of reservation policy in recruitment along with Clearance of backlog vacancies meant for reserved category candidates.
Jammu 20 June 2022: R.K Kalsotra State President All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations met Sh. J.P.Sharma Vice Chancellor SKUAST-J and Sh. S.K Gupta Registrar and apprised them about the scenario prevailing in the SKUAST -J with regard to non implementation of central government reservation policy in recruitment.
R.K. Kalsotra on behalf of the confederation expressed his displeasure to the fact that SKUAST-Jammu came into existence on 20th September 1999 following the amendment in Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technological Act, 1982 through the State Legislature and till date there is no implementation of Reservation Policy in SKUAST-J, because of which the eligible candidates from reserved categories are suffering till date without any fault of theirs. There are hardly very few Scientists/Assistant Prof./Associate Prof. Etc in the SKUAST-J campus belonging to Reserved Categories and they too were appointed on the basis of posts advertised in General Category because of non-implementation of Reservation Policy in the University.
Confederation demanded immediate implementation of reservation policy with Backlog quota since the inception of SKUAST -J. Confederation also wrote & apprised to the MRHD, LG UT, J&K, UGC, National Chsirman SC/ST/OBC, DG ICAR, CS UT-J&K & VC SkUAST Kashmir also
Vice Chancellor assured immediate resolution of the grievances submitted by Confederation on behalf of hundreds of eligible candidates of reserved categories.
