Attitude of Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Department is not Acceptable : Traders
-Lodges Strong protest against the atrocious attitude of Officials
Jammu,31-08-2022: Furious over the atrocious attitude of Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Department Officials, the Traders of Ware House Nehru Market on Wednesday lodged a Strong Protest against the uncalled action of Officials of the Department.
The Department’s team under the supervision of Assistant Director Vipin Bhagat paid a surprise visit to one of the shops in the warehouse. Deepak Gupta, President Traders Federation Ware House Nehru Market when asked about the reasons, the officer misbehaved and showed his power. Furious over the attitude of officers, traders shut down their shops and started protesting on the main road of Ware House. Both gates of Ware House closed and essential supply halted against the attitude of the officer.
Deepak Gupta on this occasion warned the administration of serious consequences in case the authorities of the department would not mend its ways. Protesting strongly over the attitude of officer Vipin Bhagat, Deepak Gupta threatened to stop the essential supplies in the whole Jammu and Kashmir.
Deepak Gupta said that it is common for departmental officers to come to the mandi for investigation. Officers often come and take samples for investigation, but Vipin Bhagat brought the police with him and entered the shop with the police without informing anything. When he asked Vipin Gupta the reason, he showed his strength and said that every shop in Ware House would be investigated. Vipin Gupta asks them to leave the shop.
Deepak Gupta said that the businessman collects the tax for the government and only wants respect in return, but today the departmental officers entered the shop in such a way that he was not a shopkeeper but a terrorist. Deepak Gupta said that the trader would not tolerate such behavior and if needed, the market would be closed. He also demanded the resignation of Vipin Bhagat. Meanwhile, Arun Gupta, President Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu also reached the spot and joined the agitating traders.
Seeing the matter deteriorating, Jammu Additional Deputy Commissioner Law and Order Minga Sherpa reached the spot and he assured the enquiry in this matter. After his assurance, traders ended their protest.
