PM Modi should have mercy on people of J&K: Shiv Sena

JAMMU: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit has accused the Central Government of leaving Jammu and Kashmir on its own after making it a Union Territory as the people of the erstwhile state especially youth, temporary employees, traders, Kashmiri Hindus, including Sikhs All sections of people are deeply disappointed about the apathetic attitude of the government at the Centre.
This was stated by Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena J&K while talking to media persons at party office here today.
Sahni said that after the formation of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, all sections of the people, including youth are facing great hardships, in the last one year. The recruitment processes related to about lakhs of youth have been canceled.
He mentioned that in February 2022, the government had canceled all the recruitment notifications advertised under JKSSB and JKPSC before 31 October 2019. After that, the recruitment process of Finance Account Assistant, JE Civil, Sub Inspector of Police Department under JKSSB was canceled citing irregularities and corruption, due to which a large number of youths are highly disappointed and protesting on Jammu roads. Besides this, the sword of unemployment is also hanging on about 62,000 daily wagers, temporary employees of many departments including Jal Shakti Department who were not even paid their wagers for the last 6 to 8 months. Due to which it has become difficult for them to take care of their family.
“The present dispensation has also hurt the sentiments of Dogras by not declaring a public holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, the last Maharaja of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir. Almost all political and social organizations, including the Yuva Rajput Sabha, are on the streets. At the same time, due to the unsafe environment in Kashmir, thousands of Kashmiri Hindus and Jammu origin reserved category employees working in Kashmir have been agitating for the last four months for the transfer to safer places. The people of POJK are disappointed with the government for not getting one-time relief and not getting representation in the Assembly and the Sikh community not getting Punjabi language status,” he added.
Sahni said that all these people, while sacrificing their rights, welcomed the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A from Jammu and Kashmir by the Central Government on August 5, 2019. After a long gap of three years, all the happiness has turned into disappointment. Now we are waiting that when will the Prime Minister to show mercy on the people of Jammu and Kashmir? Sahni said, in a warning tone, that do not test the patience of the public, otherwise, it will prove to be very expensive for the BJP-led government at the Centre.
