GDC Ramnagar organise a lecture and Quiz- Competition on Constitution Day titled, “India: The Mother of Democracy”
26-11-2022: “NSS Unit” and “Shikshit Bharat Abhiyaan” Committee of Govt. Degree College Ramnagar, under the supreme guidance of the principal of the college, DR. Udhey Bhanu, organised a lecture and Quiz- Competition on the occasion of celebration of the Constitution Day under the theme, “India: The Mother of Democracy”. The purpose of the programme was to make the students aware about the philosophy of the Constitution, Nature of the Indian state and objectives of the Constitution and also to develop the feelings of patriotism among them. The programme began with the welcome address by Prof. Swarna Devi, HOD Political Science and convenor of Shikshit Bharat Abhiyan, which was followed by her Lecture on the Topic “A brief study of Indian Constitution”. She explained various aspects of the constitution. She discussed about the Preamble, Nature, objectives, features and Fundamental Structure of the constitution.
Total 16 students of Semester first participated in Quiz-competition. Four teams (Team A, B, C and D) were framed, four students were kept in each team. Team “D” was declared as the winner- team. The students in team “D” were Pooja Jamwal, Pushpa Devi, Rakesh Kumar and Rajinder Kuma. The proceedings of the Quiz were carried out by Prof. Ritika Mahajan, HOD Chemistry &NSS Programme Officer who was assisted by Prof. Divya Puri, Prof. Shobha Rani and Prof. Sonam Gandotra.
On the occasion, Principal of the college Congratulated and encouraged the Winner-Team, organising Committees and all the students of the college for such a wonderful performance and he advised the organisers to arrange such activities in future as well. He exhorted upon the importance of knowing the real-essence of the constitution and the efforts made by our constitution-makers, so that the younger generation can fulfil the left-out dreams of our constitution framers. Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra, Prof. Brinder Kumar, Prof. Harmeet Kour, DR. Monica, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad, DR. Om Parkash, Prof. Naveed Choudhary were the other members who present on the occasion.
The whole event was organised by the Convenor of Shikshit Bharat Abhiyaan and NSS Programme Officer. The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra, Vice-Principal of the college.
