J&K: Protest Against Eviction Drive Held Close to Lal Chowk in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, Feb. 8: The JK All Alliance Democratic Party staged a protest against an eviction drive the Jammu and Kashmir administration began to retrieve state land from encroachers here on Wednesday.
Rakib Ahmad led the group of demonstrators as they gathered close to Pratap Park on Residency Road and chanted anti-Union Territory slogans.
The protesters called the eviction drive “anti-people” and “anti-poor,” and they demanded that it end right away.
Police stopped them as they attempted to march in the direction of Lal Chowk.
