Ujjwala Yojana reforms Neelam’s life in J&K’s Udhampur

Jammu,10-04-2023 : Almost four years back, Neelam Devi had a tough life to deal with. Living with husband and other family members, Neelam Devi had to travel for around two hours down to hill to collect firewood for lighting wood stove and cook meals for the members.

But, in 2019, life took a turn and her dreams got wings with the Ujjawala Yojana that lightened the life of Neelam and her family for ever and ever living in village Mand of Udhampur district.

Neelam under Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana, got the LPG gas connection with stove and thereafter it was no looking back.

Working as a Labourer, earlier it was hard for Neelam Devi to go to jungle every morning to collect firewood to feed her family.

Family of 7, Neelam Devi living with her in-laws, husband, brother-in-law and kids, thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for changing thousands of lives like her and making them feel special.

Neelam Devi previously had to take lot of time to collect woods and after cooking food, uses to leave for work as she is also working as labourer with husband but after gas connection, the family has learnt the time management.

She expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for bringing smiles on the faces of women folk
