Elected PRI Members Should Play Active Role in Curbing Drugs Menace : AJKPC

Jammu, 11/Apr/2023: All Jammu and Kashmi HBr Panchayat Conference, (AJKPC), the premier registered organization working for strengthening the rural local bodies today organized a special awareness program here in block moungri of district Udampur under block wise series of programs .

Presided by Anil Sharma president of AJKPC and attended by local Panches, Sarpanches and other prominent people of the block the participants unanimously pledged to launch a full fledged social movement against drug menace that is not only spoiling the lives of our youth but also a major concern for national security as drug money is then used for anti national activities and international terrorism.

While addressing the gathering Anil urged the participants especially to the elected Panchayat members to remain vigilant and coordinate and cooperate with the police and other law enforcement authorites in curbing drug addiction in their respective Panchayat Halqas as elected PRI members have obvious duty to serve their people.

He also called for regularly organizing anti drug awareness programs in villages with involvement of local school and college students. Sharma further informed the participants that in the last over a month under block wise series of programs AJKPC have conducted around a dozen programs in different blocks and districts of Kashmir with overwhelming participation of PRI members and prominent people of the area. He assured the gathering that AJKPC is committed to play its role in eradicating all social evils from the society being a community committed organization.

Prominent people who spoke on the occassion include Vice President AJKPC Hans Raj Thakur , Block President Koshal Kumar, Jarnail Singh, Khem Raj , Rekha Devi, Bhambra Devi, kanta Devi, Krishan Singh, Retd lecture Jai Parkash , Nasib Singh Social worker etc.
