FOIJ Request for the Reimbursement of Road Freight up to Ports for the Export of Industrial Goods from J&K

17-04-2023 : Federation of Industries Jammu request Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Sh. Piyush Goyal for the Reimbursement of Road Freight from Jammu & Kashmir up to nearest Ports to encourage the Export of Industrial Goods to other Countries.

Sh. Lalit Mahajan Chairman Federation of Industries Jammu conveys his Heartiest Congratulations to Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Sh. Piyush Goyal for the record goods and services Exports of $770 billion in 2022-23.

While highlighting the issue Mr. Mahajan draws the kind attention of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Sh. Piyush Goyal towards the limited growth in the Export of Industrial Goods to other Countries which is 17.30 Crores USD only Upto January 2023  due to additional Freight being paid on the Import of Raw Materials and Export of Finished  Goods by Road up to Ports due to stiff Competition being faced from the manufacturing Units located near the Ports as the Industrial Sector of Jammu & Kashmir is facing the problem due to Locational disadvantage, Hostile Borders with China & Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention here that there is a lot of scope for the Export of  Goods from the Union Territory of J & K to other Countries but due to the non-availability of Financial Support for the Reimbursement of Road Freight up to the Nearest Ports as the unit holders are not able to compete in the International market and it is the need of the hour to provide the Road Freight Incentive up to nearest Post under the Incentivizing Export through Make In India, Make for World Scheme.

We humbly request Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Sh. Piyush Goyal for the grant of the Fiscal Incentive in the Shape of Reimbursement of Road Freight to Industrial Units located in J&K for the Export of Goods to the Nearest Port to encourage the Export of Industrial Goods to Other Countries.
