COVID-19 Update: 53 New Cases Reported in Jammu and Kashmir
District-wise Breakdown: Jammu, Srinagar, and Baramulla Among Highest Active COVID Cases in Jammu and Kashmir
17-04-2023 : A total of 53 new cases of COVID-19 were reported today in Jammu and Kashmir, with 28 cases from Jammu division and 25 cases from the Kashmir valley. Among the districts, the highest number of cases, 15, were reported from Jammu district, followed by 7 cases from Pulwama, 6 cases from Anantnag, 5 cases from Ramban, 4 cases from Kulgam, 3 cases from Udhampur, and 2 cases each from Kathua, Samba, Srinagar, Budgam, and Bandipora, with 1 case each from Poonch, Baramulla, and Shopian districts.
According to reports, a total of 2,162 COVID tests were conducted in the Union Territory in the last 24 hours. As of today, there are 738 active COVID cases in the UT, with 345 cases in Jammu Division and 393 cases in the Kashmir region. However, there was some positive news as 72 COVID patients recovered today, with 33 recoveries from Jammu division and 39 from the Kashmir valley.
Among the districts, Jammu district has the highest number of active cases at 222, followed by 85 cases in Srinagar, 50 cases in Baramulla, 49 cases each in Kulgam and Budgam, 45 cases in Anantnag, 33 cases in Pulwama, 32 cases in Kishtwar, 30 cases in Kupwara, 23 cases in Bandipora, 22 cases each in Ganderbal and Udhampur, 19 cases in Doda, 11 cases in Ramban, 10 cases in Samba, 9 cases in Rajouri, 7 cases each in Reasi, Shopian, and Kathua, and 6 cases in Poonch district.
