PAGD to field joint candidates but will fight on own party symbols

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Chairman of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration and President of National Conference Dr. Farooq Abdullah today said that parties under the banner of PAGD shall contest polls on their own symbols but there will be only one candidate of the alliance in each segment.
AIR correspondent reports, Dr. Abdullah said that the polls have been announced in a hurry and they do not have a common symbol adding that candidates will contest polls on symbols of their parties. He further said, only one joint candidate will be fielded from each constituency and the said candidate will be having the symbol of the party with which he is associated. The PAGD candidates would not have a common symbol as it is not registered as a party with the Election Commission of India. So, the candidates would be fighting on symbols of their own parties.
