Muzaffar Ahmad Mir Elected President of District Mountaineering Association in Srinagar
Srinagar, 11-01-2024: In a notable development, Muzaffar Ahmad Mir, a prominent businessman and ardent nature enthusiast from Srinagar, has achieved unanimous election as the President of the District Mountaineering Association in Srinagar. The election meeting took place at Govt. Middle School, Athwajan, Srinagar, where Irshad Ahmad Mir, an experienced trekker, secured the position of General Secretary.
The newly elected leadership also includes Mushtaq Ahmad Parrey as Vice President, and Adil Bashir Rather and Tanveer Ahmad, both passionate trekkers, elected as Joint Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. The Executive body, comprising Muzamil Akhter, Roshni, Irfan Sofi, Amin Ul Aziz, and Arshad Majeed Bhat, was also unanimously elected.
The elections were conducted smoothly and amicably under the supervision of Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, the Returning Officer, with Syed Mohammad Hussain, President of District Mountaineering Association, Pulwama, acting as the Observer on behalf of the Mountaineering Association of J&K.
Expressing gratitude upon his election, Muzaffar Ahmed Mir, an avid mountain lover, addressed the members, thanking them for their trust and pledging to actively promote trekking, mountaineering, and sport climbing in the district.
Returning Officer Syed Mohammad Hussain acknowledged the active participation of representatives from various adventure clubs of Srinagar in the district elections. He urged them to work with dedication and zeal for the advancement of adventure activities in the district. Hussain expressed hope that the sport climbers from the district would soon excel at national sport climbing competitions. He also assured full support and cooperation to the district association from the Mountaineering Association of J&K.
