Sudden spurt in terror attacks exposes Govt. claims, firm action needed – Bhalla, Ravinder
Jammu, June 12 : Congress today strongly condemned the series of terror attacks and questioned the sudden spurt in terror incidents, on the eve of Shri Amarnath Yatra and Assembly elections which is worrisome, take firm action to check rising militancy, Which has been spreading in entire Jammu.
Expressing sympathies with those martyred and injured, JKPCC Working President Shri Raman Bhalla and Senior Vice President and Media Incharge Shri Ravinder Sharma said that it is total failure of Centre & UT administration on the security situation and their hollow claims stand exposed at the cost of innocent lives..
Accusing PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of misleading the entire nation during the entire election campaign about the real security situation, Bhalla said that situation has worsened the Jammu province for the past two years, especially in Rajouri-Poonch but now it has spread tentacles in other parts engulfing the entire Jammu province in militancy.
Hitting out at the Centre & UT administration for making false claims and misleading the entire nation for elections and politics, Bhalla said that it is unfortunate that BJP always played politics on security situation. While in opposition Shri Narinder Modi made it part of election campaign blaming UPA Govt for failure to contain terrorism and asking how these militants enter when Dr. Manmohan Singh has entire Army and BSF on borders Shri Modi ji is in power for over 10 years, where is 56” chest and why infiltration and casualties of innocent citizens and Army and security personnel during past over two years, while BJP claims normalcy everywhere. The Amarnath Yatra is starting month end and assembly elections are due, this sudden spurt is very surprising and worrysome. The Govt. has failed to ensure peaceful atmosphere after 10 years and control militancy which has revived. The hitherto peaceful areas are under grip of militancy while Prime Minister and Home Minister and other BJP leaders make tall claims even in elections rallies and play politics.
Mr. Sharma termed the emerging situation as worrysome as the security network in Rajouri-Poonch has been weakened to claimed normalcy in past few years leading to rise and revival of militancy. He said that Govt. under the wrong impression of normalcy withdrew the army and the security posts and weakened the Village Defence and Self Defence mechanism and as even licensed weapons of people are not being renewed. The agitated people at Treyath near Kanda (Reasi) raised these demands forcefully with the DDC and complained about the weakening of village defence and self defence system leading to free situation for terrorists and people were scared. He raised these demands of locals and besides upgradation of health infrastructure at Treyath and other adjoining areas of Kalakote and Reasi.
The said that Congress fully supports the Govt and security forces for firmly dealing with terrorism and to ensure safety of innocents and jawans.
