DC Reasi Indu Kanwal Chib discusses arrangements for COVID19 vaccination

REASI, DECEMBER 09: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib Wednesday chaired a meeting with the District Level Task Force for the preparation of the roll-out of COVID-19 vaccination in the district.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Rashmi Wazir; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajinder Kumar Sharma; Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Rajeev Sharma; Programme Officer ICDS, Renu Kumari; Principal DIET, Om Parkash Sharma; BMOs, CDPOs, and Officers of DYSS Reasi.

Detailed deliberations were held with respect to micro plans for vaccination sites, cold chain storage points, and other logistic requirements, beneficiaries per site/vaccines required, the requirement of ancillary equipment such as vaccination boxes, syringes, ice packs, hub cutters, bio-waste disposable bags for the hassle-free and effective vaccination at the grassroots level.

The Deputy Commissioner, at the outset, informed that the Vaccine is in the third phase of clinical trial and will be available for usage soon. He called for greater coordination among the frontline workers of various departments including Police, health, social welfare, ICDS, school education, the Department of youth services and sports and other departments.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to work out the human resource requirements for organizing dedicated COVID-vaccination drives and further ensure that the existing arrangements for COVID-19 testing and routine immunization drives are not compromised.

The Deputy Commissioner said it is imperative to go for the micro-planning for vaccination sites, cold storage chain points, and sites to be worked beforehand for the successful vaccination at the grassroots level.

In connection with the prioritized groups of beneficiaries to be administered the vaccine in the initial stages, the Deputy Commissioner directed the health authorities to keep the data of health workers employed in the government and private sector ready as they would get the vaccine in the first instance.  She directed for completing the process of inspecting the health status/screening and door to door survey through Swasthya Nidhi app and prioritize the targeted groups to provide them the benefit of the COVID19 vaccine.
