District Congress Committee Prepares for Assembly Elections, Calls for United Effort to Defeat Anti-People Policies of BJP
Jammu Urban Congress Mobilizes Ahead of Assembly Elections, Targets BJP’s 'Communal Agenda' and Broken Promises
Jammu, August 16: A meeting of District Congress Committee Jammu Urban was held here today at PCC HQ Jammu to take stock of the preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections besides discussing the burning issues of the people. The meeting was chaired by PCC Vice President Shri Yogesh Sawhney.
The meeting was organized by District Congress Committee Jammu Urban led by Th. Manmohan Singh and attended by Senior leaders of PCC, DCC and Block Presidents, besides Frontal Organizations heads and others. Prominent among them include PCC General Secretary Thomas Khokhar, Dwarka Choudhary, Sanjeev Sharma (Panda), Pawan Dev Singh, Rajesh Sharma, S.P Sapolia, R. P. Magotra Latish Sharma, Pawan Sharma, Ricky Dalotra, Jugal Kishore, Atul Sharma, Chander Shekhar, Pawan Sharma, Sanjeev Katal, Baldev Singh Wazir, Gurmeet Singh, Sumanpreet Singh, Anil Kumar, Darshan Verma, Rakesh Sharma, Bhushan Kumar,Nageshwar, Ashwani Sethi, Gharu Ram, Ram Magotra, Manjeet Singh Bedi, Balderv Sigh Wazir, Balwinder Singh Rinlu, Farooq Ahmed, Ashok Sharma, Rashpal Bhardwaj, Som Nath , Vankul Jamba, and others.
The meeting took stock of the preparations for the Assembly elections and asked the party cadres to gear up for these elections and defeat the anti people anti youth, anti students, anti farmers, BJP regime. The party sought input from block and Ward presidents regarding the activities of the party.
Shri Yogesh Sawhney lashed out at those parties who have been exploiting the sentiments of the people on various emotional issues for vote bank politics but utterly failed to deliver. He asked the party functionaries to make aware the people of the communal agenda of BJP and defeat the nefarious designs of communal, divisive and separatist forces. He complimented the people of Jammu region for believing in togetherness and religious harmony despite grave provocations by vested interests
Th. Manmohan Singh stressed upon the need to counter the false propaganda of BJP claiming to be champions of Jammu for last seven decades but miserably failed when they got huge mandate on falsehood and unachievable slogans. BJP stands exposed totally and it can no longer befool the masses of Jammu region. The people must reject all opportunists and exploitative politics in coming elections, he added.
