Kishtwar 17-12-2020: A day-long training session for the counting staff was today conducted under the overall supervision of District Panchayat Elections Officer Kishtwar Ashok Sharma here at the conference Hall DC office Complex Mini secretariat Kishtwar.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pawan Parihar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr Amir Hussain, Assistant Labour Commissioner Kishtwar Anoop Kumar, DFO Division Marwah Vijay Kumar, Master trainer Girdhari Lal, Romesh Kumar, Shashi Kant, ENT Angreez Singh Jasrotia, besides other officials remain present on the occasion.
It is pertinent to mention here that the counting of the votes of 14 DDC constituencies for the first-ever District Development Council election is scheduled on December 22, 2020, in the district at 05 designated counting venues Viz Kendriya Vidyalaya kishtwar, GDC Kishtwar, HSS Paddar, SFC building Chatroo, HSS Dachhan and HSS Yourdoo Marwah.
During the training programme the counting staff has imparted the training about various aspects of the counting process including, how to count postal ballots, how to open ballot boxes, how to mix the votes before counting, How to count votes, Who are allowed in counting centre , which vote to be treated as valid and which invalid and how to fill round wise and table-wise tabulation sheets in detail under the overall management of Nodal Officer Training Management Anoop Kumar.
On the occasion, ACR Kishtwar and ADC kishtwar also briefed the participants about various logistics and security arrangements and directed the counting staff to follow the set procedure while discharging their duty. Various situations of rejecting a vote as per election law were also discussed during the training.
ADC further informed the trainees to adhere to the COVID19 protocols and guidelines issued by Govt from time to time. The second batch of training session shall be held tomorrow in meeting hall DC office kishtwar from 11:00 am onwards.
