Udhampur East, 17th September: In a series of impactful meetings held at various locations, including Kali Mata Mandir Mand, Gole Tikri, Dhanori, and Sounthan, Roun, Talmara, Thanoa, Jaganoo, Rathian, Kharooni, Fangial, Tikri, Battal, Balian, BJP candidate Ranbir Singh Pathania outlined his vision for a prosperous Udhampur East during his election campaign. These meetings also marked the opening of party offices at Tikri and Jaganoo, further solidifying the BJP’s presence in the constituency. The meetings saw enthusiastic participation from residents, who showed strong support for Pathania’s agenda and represented a wide demographic eager to hear about the future roadmap he presented.
During his address, Mr. Pathania highlighted key components of the BJP’s election manifesto focused on education, welfare, and economic development, aiming to uplift the community and enhance living standards for all residents of Udhampur East. One of the standout initiatives is the provision of tablets or laptops for students in remote areas, designed to bridge the digital divide and promote quality education. Additionally, college students will benefit from a ₹3,000 yearly travel allowance under the Pragati Shiksha Yojana, further encouraging participation in higher education.
Addressing security concerns, Pathania emphasized the BJP’s commitment to uprooting terrorism and holding those responsible accountable, assuring residents that safety and security remain top priorities. In alignment with their welfare programs, the BJP plans to provide two free cylinders per year under the Ujjwala scheme for women, as well as an annual financial assistance of ₹18,000 to the eldest women in families.
Economic growth will be propelled through the development of modern tourist destinations, which is seen as vital for infrastructure improvement and local employment opportunities. Furthermore, Mr. Pathania assured residents of relief from outstanding electricity and water bills, alongside free electricity for families under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. This initiative will ensure clean drinking water through the ‘Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’ scheme.
Highlighting the importance of social security, the BJP pledges to triple pensions for the elderly, widows, and disabled individuals from ₹1,000 to ₹3,000, ensuring a dignified life for these vulnerable groups. Additionally, Mr. Pathania announced newly outlined measures to support farmers, including raising the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi payout and reducing electricity tariffs by up to 50% for agricultural activities. To improve rural connectivity and transportation infrastructure, the ‘Har Tunnel Tez Pahal’ Yojana will introduce new rural roads.
