Abhijeet Dipke Receives Marriage Proposals, Mother Reveals, CJP Founder Focuses on Becoming Self-Reliant
CJP founder receives marriage proposals for two years, but says self reliance remains his first priority while leading student rights campaign
New Delhi: While the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) continues its confrontation with the Centre over the withdrawal of FIRs against student protesters, its founder Abhijeet Dipke has decided to put his personal life plans on hold.
Dipke’s mother Anita Dipke revealed that the 26 year old activist has been receiving marriage proposals for nearly two years but has chosen not to move ahead with any alliance until he completes his education and achieves financial independence.
“Marriage proposals have been coming for him for some time. They have been arriving for the past two years, but he has made it clear that he will marry only after finishing his studies and becoming financially independent,” Anita Dipke said.
The comments come at a time when Dipke is recovering from typhoid while continuing to spearhead the CJP’s campaign over alleged police action against students involved in recent protests.
Dipke Continues Student Protest Campaign Despite Health Concerns
In a recent post on social media platform X, Dipke alleged that students were still facing pressure and harassment from authorities despite assurances given by the government.
He warned that the CJP could return to the streets with a large peaceful movement if what he described as continued targeting of students did not stop.
“If harassment of students by police continues, the Cockroach Janta Party will respond with a massive peaceful protest soon. The government must stop targeting and intimidating students,” Dipke wrote.
The statement came days after the organisation temporarily ended its prolonged agitation at Jantar Mantar following discussions with the government.
CJP Ends 36-Day Protest After Announcing Agreement With Centre
The CJP had called off its 36-day protest on Saturday, claiming that several of its major demands had been accepted by the Centre.
The organisation said the commitments included the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, withdrawal of FIRs registered against protesters, protection from any retaliatory action and consideration of wider reforms in the examination system.
However, tensions resurfaced soon after the announcement, with the group alleging that the government had not followed through on the commitments made during negotiations.
Demand for Written Assurance Intensifies
On Monday, the CJP demanded the immediate release of detained protesters, cancellation of criminal cases and a formal written guarantee that no new FIRs would be filed against students linked to the movement.
The organisation warned that the agitation could restart if its demands were not addressed.
The situation escalated further on Tuesday when the CJP accused the Centre of using the Supreme Court’s interim order in petitions related to the protests as a reason for delaying the promised written assurance.
The group said it would continue its campaign until “complete accountability” was ensured and called for a parliamentary discussion on alleged police excesses during the July 20 protest.
CJP Seeks Accountability Over Alleged Police Action
CJP leaders also demanded that responsibility be fixed not only on police officials but also on senior government authorities over the handling of the student demonstrations.
Speaking to PTI Videos, CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das claimed that government representatives had informed the organisation during talks on Tuesday that the matter had become “sub judice” following the Supreme Court’s interim order.
Das alleged that the government was stepping away from assurances given to students during discussions.
“They are now using the court order as a reason to avoid the commitments made to the youth of the country. If the government does not honour its word and the agreements, we will be forced to launch another major protest, not only in Delhi but across the country,” Das said.
Personal Goals Remain Secondary for CJP Founder
Amid the ongoing political dispute, Abhijeet Dipke’s decision to delay marriage highlights his focus on completing his education and establishing financial stability before taking major personal decisions.
According to his mother, Dipke believes that becoming independent and building his future should come before marriage.
His stand comes as he continues to balance personal challenges, including his recovery from illness, with his role as the face of the CJP’s student-focused campaign.
