Adani and Google Partner on $15 Billion Project to Launch India’s Largest AI Data Centre in Visakhapatnam
India’s largest AI hub to combine cutting-edge technology with clean energy, creating tens of thousands of jobs and boosting digital infrastructure.
New Delhi, Oct 14 : Adani Enterprises, through its joint venture AdaniConneX, and Google have announced a landmark partnership to develop India’s largest AI data centre campus in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The project, valued at approximately $15 billion over five years (2026-2030), will integrate gigawatt-scale data centre operations with a robust subsea cable network and clean energy infrastructure to support advanced AI workloads in India.
The Google AI hub will feature purpose-built AI data centre infrastructure designed to significantly expand India’s computing capacity and drive a generational shift in AI capabilities. The initiative also underscores both companies’ commitment to sustainability, with co-investments planned in new transmission lines, renewable energy generation, and innovative energy storage solutions. This will not only power the data centre but also strengthen the resilience and capacity of Andhra Pradesh’s electricity grid.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, said, “This historic project defines the future of India’s digital landscape. Visakhapatnam is set to become a global technology destination, and this partnership embodies our shared vision of empowering every Indian with 21st-century tools.”
Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian added, “The Google AI hub will provide critical infrastructure to drive growth, enabling businesses, researchers, and creators to innovate and scale with AI. Working with Adani, we are bringing cutting-edge resources closer to communities and customers.”
The AI hub is expected to act as a catalyst for economic growth in Visakhapatnam and across India, promoting digital inclusivity and generating tens of thousands of employment opportunities in technology, construction, and clean energy sectors.
