ADC Reasi presides over Public hearing at Sungri

SUNGRI (REASI) MARCH 31: A Public hearing for the environmental clearance of Minor Mineral (River bed material) Mining Blocks cluster at Ans river bed for Mining block no. 18, Block no. 19, and Block no. 20 spanning over an area of 7.26 Ha, 5.43 Ha, and 5.76 Ha respectively was organized today at village Sungri by J & K Pollution Control Board.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Rajinder Kumar Sharma, presided over the proceedings of the Public hearing. The other members of the panel comprised representative of Regional Director, J & K Pollution Control Board, Angrez Singh, Divisional Officer, PCB Samba – South; District Mineral Officer, Shafiq Ahmed and Divisional Officer, Pollution Control Board, Reasi Hansraj Galoach. SDM Mahore Faz Lul Hasseb, also graced the occasion as a special invitee.

 The Environmental Consultant of M/s P & M Solution, Hussain Zia-ud-Din, representing the project proponent briefed the audience about the details of the proposed mining block clusters including the mining method and anticipated impact of the mining in the area and the measures proposed under the Environment Management Plan and Corporate Environmental Responsibility. Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Reasi assured the public that genuine concerns of the locals for reasonable rates of minor minerals; mining rights to Panchayats, and other issues raised during the public hearing shall be appropriately addressed. DDC Member Chassana- A; Sarpanchs, Panchs,   and prominent citizens also addressed the Public.
