Adjust youths engaged during COVID under emergency response package by NHM: Kavinder

JAMMU: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today urged the J&K government to adjust nearly 70 nurses who were engaged in emergency response package during the critical period of the COVID-19 pandemic under the National Health Mission.
After meeting the disengaged lot of these healthcare workers, Kavinder made a fervent appeal to the LG Manoj Sinha claiming that these young individuals had played an essential role in the fight against the coronavirus and now, the government must fulfill its responsibility by providing them with stable employment opportunities.
It is pertinent to mention that the J&K’s administration has disengaged the aforesaid lot after the pandemic was over leaving these dedicated young healthcare workers lurching for a stable career.
The senior BJP leader maintained that the youth, who were appointed for healthcare services in GMC Jammu and associated hospitals during the pandemic, were crucial in supporting the medical infrastructure and ensuring that people received necessary care during the unprecedented health crisis.
“These young individuals sacrificed their time and energy, working tirelessly for the welfare of the public during one of the most challenging periods of human history,” he said adding that now the Jammu and Kashmir Government cannot simply shun its responsibility after having relied on the services of these youth in such a crucial time.
“The Principal GMC has also confirmed the need for such services in the present healthcare scenario, it is only right that these aspiring youth are given preference in job opportunities in the healthcare sector,” he added.
The senior BJP leader called on the Jammu and Kashmir administration to ensure that these individuals are given proper consideration in the upcoming recruitment processes, particularly in the healthcare department, where their experience and dedication could be of immense value.
“The government must recognize their invaluable contributions and provide them with the opportunity to serve the public in a more permanent capacity,” the senior BJP leader urged.
Kavinder also stressed that by offering these youth jobs, the government would not only fulfill its moral duty but would also help sustain the healthcare sector’s strength in the face of any future challenges.
