Ajit Doval Calls on Youth to Draw Lessons from History and Strengthen India
Speaking at Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2.0, Doval highlights sacrifices of ancestors and stresses the importance of security awareness for nation building.
NEW DELHI, Jan 10: National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Friday called on India’s youth to draw lessons from the nation’s history and channel that knowledge to rebuild a strong and prosperous India. He emphasized the sacrifices made by generations of Indians, who endured humiliation, destruction, and immense loss during the struggle for freedom.
Addressing participants at the opening of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2.0, Doval said, “Our ancestors made great sacrifices. Villages were burned, temples looted, and many lives were lost. This history challenges today’s youth to act. While revenge may not be the ideal word, the spirit to reclaim our nation’s strength is essential. We must build a great India rooted in our rights, ideas, and values.”
Doval also highlighted India’s rich ancient civilization, describing it as advanced and peaceful. However, he warned that ignoring past security threats had taught harsh lessons. “We failed to understand threats to our security and ourselves. If future generations forget these lessons, it will be the greatest tragedy for our nation,” he cautioned.
The dialogue, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, runs from January 10 to January 12 and provides a platform for young leaders to engage with policymakers, innovators, and influencers in shaping India’s development vision. The first edition of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue took place in January 2025.
