Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes BJP for Escalating Human-Wildlife Conflicts in Uttar Pradesh

SP Chief Questions Uttar Pradesh Government’s Handling of Rising Human-Wildlife Conflicts

New Delhi : Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday slammed the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh over the increasing incidents of wild animal attacks across the state.

Addressing the growing human-animal conflict, Yadav highlighted incidents involving wolves, leopards, pythons, and bulls in districts like Bahraich, Sitapur, and Pilibhit. “The atmosphere of fear in UP due to wild animal attacks will the BJP government act, or will it simply deny the problem claiming no animal traces were found?” he asked on his WhatsApp channel.

He questioned whether the government would take concrete action to protect affected residents or continue to ignore evidence, pointing to visible injuries and the loss of livestock.

In addition to the wildlife issue, Yadav criticized the state government’s recent GST reforms, calling them a “gimmick” that fails to reduce prices for the common people. He claimed, “BJP leaders promised 50% price cuts through GST reduction, but citizens find no relief in markets and end up arguing with shopkeepers.”

Yadav’s remarks come amid growing public concern over safety in rural areas and dissatisfaction with government policies impacting daily life.
