Ali Mohd Sagar Orders Timely Submission of Status Reports
J&K Legislative Assembly panel reviews audit paras, urges accountability and revival plans for loss-making units.
Srinagar, Sep 16: The Committee on Public Undertakings of the J&K Legislative Assembly, chaired by Ali Mohammad Sagar, reviewed audit paras of the Industries & Commerce Department at the Assembly Complex, Srinagar.
During the session, the Committee discussed the low capacity utilization of the JK Cements Samba unit, which resulted in losses of ₹1.26 crore in 2017–18. Members sought a detailed report, emphasizing accountability for lapses and calling for a comprehensive revival plan.
Chairman Ali Mohammad Sagar stressed transparency and rigorous audits, directing the timely submission of status reports to strengthen industrial units, boost revenue generation, and create employment opportunities in the Union Territory.
