Amit Shah Says India on Track to Eliminate Maoism by March 31
Home Minister says security forces will defeat attempts to create a ‘red corridor’ from Tirupati to Nepal praises CISF on its 57th Raising Day.
Mundali (Odisha), Mar 6: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday declared that India is on track to eliminate Maoism by March 31, crediting the sustained efforts of security forces and the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking at the 57th Raising Day celebration of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at Mundali in Odisha’s Cuttack district, Shah said the government is determined to end the decades long insurgency and prevent the creation of a so-called “red corridor” stretching from Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati to Nepal’s Pashupati region.
He expressed confidence that security forces would foil the ambitions of extremist groups seeking to expand their influence across regions.
Shah said the near-eradication of Maoist violence would mark a major milestone for the country’s internal security framework and reflect the effectiveness of coordinated counter-insurgency operations.
Highlighting the role of the CISF, the home minister said the force plays a crucial role in protecting vital infrastructure and key institutions, thereby contributing to the nation’s economic development.
He noted that by safeguarding airports, industrial units and strategic installations, the CISF acts as an important pillar supporting India’s growth and stability.
