Amit Shah to Unveil BJP’s Allegations Against TMC This Saturday
Union Home Minister set to highlight alleged misgovernance and corruption in Mamata Banerjee’s 15-year rule
Kolkata, Mar 28: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will on Saturday unveil the BJP’s compilation of allegations against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal, ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, a senior party leader confirmed.
The document, titled ‘Abhiyognama’ or charge sheet, is expected to detail alleged instances of corruption, administrative failures, and misgovernance during Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s 15-year tenure. Shah will release the charge sheet at a hotel in New Town, Kolkata, in the afternoon.
Shah arrived in the city early Saturday, though his visit was delayed by two hours due to a severe thunderstorm that hit Kolkata and its outskirts around midnight on Friday.
The BJP leader said the charge sheet will focus on 14 key sectors, highlighting claims of corruption in the administration, law and order breakdown, women’s safety issues, the prevalence of syndicate raj, and crises in healthcare and education.
The party plans to leverage the charge sheet to emphasise the alleged failures of the TMC government, ahead of presenting its own solutions and proposals in its election manifesto (‘Sankalp Patra’), which is expected in the first week of April.
Shah has conducted multiple visits to West Bengal over the past two months, attending organisational meetings, public rallies, and outreach programmes including the ‘Poriborton Yatra’, aimed at strengthening the BJP’s grassroots network and fine-tuning its electoral strategy.
The 294-member West Bengal Assembly will go to polls in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with vote counting scheduled for May 4.
