Annual Meeting of Maa Vankhandi Chhadi Yatra Samiti: A Sacred Tradition Preserved by Dogra Sewa Sambhal Trust

Jammu, 12-10-2023 : The annual meeting of Maa Vankhandi Chhadi Yatra Samiti was organized under the banner of Dogra Sewa Sambhal Trust (Regd.). The meeting was presided over by trust Chairman Baldev Singh Billawaria, while Maa Vankhandi Chhadi Yatra Samiti Chairman Ashwini Gupta and President Sachin Kapoor were also present. The committee members decided that this time the ninth Chhadi Yatra of Maa Vankhandi will leave from Gangyal in the morning on the eighth Navratri Sunday and will go to the temple of Maa Vankhandi located in ShantiVan of Mahanpur (Basholi).

The Chaddi Yatra will return after the worship here. The Maa Vankhandi is another name of Mata Sita and here is the only temple of Sita Mata in the whole world. It is believed that in this Shanti Van, Lav & Kush had caught the horse of Ashwamedha Yagya and Mother Sita was absorbed in the lap of the earth here. Ranjit Singh, Om Nath and Kulbir Kour and other members were also present in the meeting.
