Apple TV+ Drops ‘Slow Horses’ Season 6 Trailer, Sets September 16 Premiere

Gary Oldman returns as the irritable MI5 veteran Jackson Lamb in the six-episode season, which will stream weekly through October 21.

LOS ANGELES, Aug 19: Apple TV+ has released the trailer for the sixth season of its acclaimed spy thriller series “Slow Horses”, with Oscar winner Gary Oldman returning as the sharp tongued and unconventional intelligence officer Jackson Lamb.

The six-episode season is scheduled to premiere on September 16, with subsequent episodes arriving every Wednesday until October 21.

Based on Mick Herron’s novels “Joe Country” and “Slough House”, the upcoming instalment once again follows the troubled MI5 agents assigned to Slough House, a department where intelligence officers are sent after making career threatening mistakes.

The new story places the group in the middle of a dangerous cycle of retaliation and revenge. Their routine is disrupted when MI5 official Diana Taverner, played by Kristin Scott Thomas, becomes involved in a high-risk operation that forces the Slow Horses to go on the run.

Oldman reprises his role as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant yet irritable head of Slough House. Despite his abrasive personality and unconventional methods, Lamb remains one of the department’s most capable intelligence officers.

The returning ensemble includes Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Rosalind Eleazar, Joanna Scanlan, Samuel West, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, Jonathan Pryce and Hugo Weaving.

BAFTA TV Award winner Lenny Rush joins the cast in a new role, while Olivia Cooke returns as Sidonie “Sid” Baker, a character introduced in the show’s first season.

The series has earned widespread critical recognition for its blend of espionage, dark humour and character-driven storytelling. The latest season is expected to continue the show’s focus on the unpredictable lives of MI5 officers operating outside the agency’s mainstream operations.

“Slow Horses” is produced for Apple TV+ by See-Saw Films. Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Julian Stevens, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Adam Randall, Gail Mutrux, Douglas Urbanski and Gary Oldman are executive producers.

With the new chapter adapting material from Herron’s Slough House novels, the series will return to the tensions, rivalries and covert operations surrounding Lamb and his team when Season 6 begins streaming on September 16.
