Ayodhya Village Hit by Multiple Explosions, Sparks Concerns Over Administrative Response

Second blast during debris removal casts doubt on gas cylinder theory, locals demand thorough probe

Ayodhya, Oct 11: A series of devastating explosions in Paglabhari village under the Purakalandar police station area has claimed six lives and raised serious questions about the local administration’s handling of the incident.

The initial blast occurred on Thursday evening in the house of resident Ramkumar, killing five people, including three children. The administration initially attributed the tragedy to a gas cylinder explosion. However, a second blast on Friday morning during debris clearance injured a revenue officer, Akash Singh, and led to the recovery of Ramkumar’s wife, Vandana, increasing the death toll to six.

The recurrence of explosions at the same household has sparked suspicion and anger among locals. Ramkumar’s residence has been the site of previous fatalities as well; in April 2024, a similar explosion at his flour mill home claimed the lives of his mother, wife, and a child. Following that incident, Ramkumar moved to a newly built house outside the village.

The second blast, which occurred while debris was being cleared using a JCB machine, has cast doubt on the official explanation of a gas cylinder accident. Residents are now demanding a deeper, transparent investigation to determine if foul play or illegal activities are involved.

Authorities have yet to provide a comprehensive explanation beyond the gas cylinder theory. With repeated tragedies at the same location, calls are growing for a high-level forensic examination to uncover the true cause behind the deadly explosions in Paglabhari village.
